It is obvious how much He loves the fatherless and the widow. God calls on us to be His agents of action in bringing these promises to fruition in the lives of orphans and widows. That is clearly the call of James 1:27 – “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” So Family Christian Stores’ James Fund calls on God’s people, to join us in taking action – to give, to go, to pray, to organize mission trips, to adopt, to take up foster care work, to start orphan care / widow care ministries in their churches, to act on behalf of the orphans and widows in their communities. Show Hope

Founded by Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, Show Hope is dedicated to caring for orphans by engaging the church and helping Christian families reduce financial barriers associated with adoption. By awarding financial adoption grants to qualified families, Show Hope brings children living without the love and hope of an earthly family to be adopted into “covenant homes.” These families provide a child with the knowledge of God’s plan for his and her eternal life with a forever family called The Body of Christ.

Lifesong for Orphans

Lifesong helps remove financial roadblocks by offering matching grants which encourage the adopting couple’s church family to financially and prayerfully support the adoption. Lifesong also offers interest-free loans to adopting couples as a tool to help couples overcome the initial ‘cash flow crunch’ of adoption expenses.

Hope for Orphans

Hope for Orphans serves churches with a heart for orphans in three ways. They educate Christians about God’s heart for orphans and encourage them to practice what God calls in James, chapter one, “pure and undefiled religion” — caring for orphans in their distress. They provide simple, practical, and biblically-based resources that help local church lay leaders launch and develop orphans ministries in their churches. They build strategic relationships with key organizations that we share with local churches as they respond to God’s mandate to care for the orphan.
